The City of Rockingham’s popular Seniors and Carers Expo will be held on Friday 6 October 2023 from 10am – 2pm at Mike Barnett Sports Complex (MBSC), and community members are invited to attend this free event.
The Seniors and Carers Expo is held annually by the City and features more than 120 stalls and activities from a range of government departments, businesses and community organisations. It provides seniors and their carers with a chance to learn more about the support and opportunities that are available from local service providers and community groups.
Free parking will be available at MBSC and priority will be given to ACROD permit holders. Additional overflow parking will be available at Dixon Road Reserve (adjacent to MBSC), with a wheelchair accessible shuttle bus service able to transport attendees from the oval to the expo.
Those attending the event on public transport can catch the train to Rockingham Train Station and travel on the 555 bus to the venue. Buses 548, 549 and 551 also drive past MBSC.
City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said the Seniors and Carers Expo was the biggest event of its kind for older people south of Perth.
“With more than 120 stalls, free presentations, a free sausage sizzle, free activities for seniors and the grandchildren, plus the opportunity to get free hearing and blood pressure checks, this popular event has something that all seniors and carers can take advantage of,” Mayor Hamblin said.
Delivering the Seniors and Carers Expo has been a key part of the City’s Strategy for many years, and we look forward to presenting the event as it plays an important part in providing attendees with access to services and programs that can help them live a safe and fulfilling life.“The City thanks this year’s sponsors Curtin FM, Emprise Mobility, Umbrella Multicultural Community Care, Bloom Hearing, Carers WA, Bee Free Mobility and Unicare Health for their support of this event.”
