For residents living in Cairnlea that face on to one of these grassland reserves: Iramoo Wildflower Grassland Reserve; Pimelea Wildflower Grassland; Featherheads Wildflower Grassland.
We are creating a Podolepis Parade in your street and we want you to be part of it.
We are giving every house a beautiful Basalt Podolepis (Podolepis linearifolia) plant - a native grassland wildflower that provides nectar for butterflies and small birds.
You can plant your Basalt Podolepis in your front garden, on your nature strip or keep it as a pot plant near your doorstep.
The Podolepis Parade will increase the food resources for our small grassland animals and it will serve as a stepping stone for butterflies travelling between our Cairnlea grasslands.
You will also receive a:
grassland information pack good grassland neighbour footpath decal voucher for a grassland starter kit (8 plants) from Iramoo Native Plant Nursery. We will be delivering your Podolepis Parade pack on the weekend of September 23-24.
This project is being delivered by the Cairnlea Conservation Reserves Committee of Management and is supported by Brimbank City Council.
