Mayor and Deputy Mayor re-elected

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke and Deputy Mayor, Cr Shaun Whitechurch will continue in their respective leadership roles following an extraordinary meeting on Friday, September 22. 

Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke was re-elected to the position of Mayor, unopposed. 

Deputy Mayor, Cr Shaun Whitechurch was re-elected to the position of Deputy Mayor, defeating Councillor Rowena Black, who was also nominated for the position 5-3. Mayor Bourke and Deputy Mayor Whitechurch will hold their positions for a 12-month period, until September 2024. 

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke thanked the Councillors for putting their trust in him for the next 12 months. 

"Thank you to my fellow Councillors for their continued support and I look forward to serving Federation Council for the remainder of my term," Mayor Bourke said. 

Federation Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Shaun Whitechurch said he was honoured to be re-elected to the position of Deputy Mayor. 

“I look forward to working alongside Mayor Bourke and fellow councillors over the next 12 months to make positive contributions and address the challenges that lie ahead for our region,” Deputy Mayor Whitechurch said.
