Plumber

Come and work as a vital member of our Water Reticulation team here at Mareeba Shire Council, located within an easy one-hour drive from Cairns offering a regional lifestyle with all its benefits in relatively close proximity to Cairns.

The role:

As a Plumber, your daily activities will be associated with water and wastewater reticulation in each of the communities within the Mareeba Shire. This may include maintaining underground utilities, operating mobile plant, working with live sewers, and working in confined spaces.

The position is required to assist with after-hours work and be part of an on-call support roster for the water and waste section.

What we are looking for:

You will have a working knowledge of water and wastewater reticulation systems You will have good levels of written, oral skills and highly developed numeracy skills You will be able to work well in a small team environment You will be able to successfully work on your own and be able to problem solve You will have knowledge of and experience complying with WHS and environmental legislative requirements You will hold a current Plumber and Drainer Licence You will hold a current Queensland MR licence or be able to obtain one
