It has been a busy time in the Council area with repair and reinstatement works post the peak of the flood event late last year and the continued high river into early 2023.
The camp sites around Lake Bonney have been closed to the community and visitors since the River Murray flood event. To attempt to cater for visitors to the area, two temporary camp sites were established at Apex Park and Lake Vista and will continue to remain open until other Lake Bonney Campsites can be re-opened.
Post flood, Councils contractors have worked on remediation of the camp sites located at North Lake and these works are now complete. At total of 31 sites are now available for booking at https://www.visitberribarmera.com.au/accommodation
Council will continue to work with our partners to assess and source funding to remediate other camp sites around the Lake.
Ireland Road, Barmera that leads to Pelican Point and Pelican Point remains closed to the public while site assessments continue.
