Applications for the City of Fremantle’s latest round of grants are now open and for the first time, includes one for youth.
There are three grants available; a youth grant, a community grant and an arts grant, for activities that make a positive contribution to the lives of young people, our community and Fremantle’s vibrant arts and culture sector respectively.
Grants of up to $7,500 per applicant are available.
There are two aspects of the new youth grant.
The first is for activities, programs and projects that encourage social and civic participation and increase wellbeing, skills, empowerment, and resilience of young people, aged 12-25, who live, work or study in Fremantle.
The second is to support young people participating in professional and/or personal development opportunities at a state, national or international level through travel assistance.
Youth travel assistance recognises the diversity of young people’s achievements and participation in important high level academic, cultural, artistic and other activities outside the sporting arena. A sport travel assistance program already exists for young people.
Examples of opportunities may include conference attendance, academic excellence programs and speaking at events.
To assist with making grant applications there are free information sessions and grant writing workshops being held this month.
