The book features the stories of thirteen men who were involved in the Greek Offensive and the fight to keep the island of Crete free from German invaders.Then enjoy a free screening of the international award-winning Best Short Documentary Second generation ANZAC: The story of Alf Carpenter directed by Jeff Hughes, a direct result of the book. The film focuses on the life of Alfred Clive Carpenter, one of the soldiers featured in the book.After the talk, visitors can stay to enjoy morning tea and explore the Memorial Galleries - embarking on a free interactive journey from World War I to today, before taking time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands.Deborah Wheeler will be available to sign copies of her book, which will be on sale.Anzac Square Memorial Galleries is located at 285 Ann Street, Brisbane.
