Sunday, November 5, 2023, 10:30am – 12pm In the lead up to Remembrance Day come along to Anzac Square Memorial Galleries for our free children’s storytime and craft event. This engaging session will introduce concepts of conflict, courage, and loyalty through stories and art activities, from a perspective that young people can empathise with and understand. This event is designed for children aged 5–8 years but younger and older children are, of course, welcome. The morning’s activities will include a reading of the beautifully illustrated book "Anzac Ted" by Belinda Landsberry, followed by Remembrance Day inspired craft and colouring-in activities."Anzac Ted” is the heart-warming tale of a teddy bear who goes to war. Told through the eyes of a young boy, this is the story of his unconditional love for his bear who was passed down to him from his grandfather. This worn and battered old bear has a powerful and moving legacy to bestow.“Anzac Ted” reading will begin at 10:30am and children are encouraged to bring along their own teddies. Craft activities will be facilitated from 10:30am to 12:00pm on Sunday 5 November 2023. All children must be accompanied by a supervising adult. After storytime, visitors are welcome to continue exploring the Memorial Galleries or take time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands.Anzac Square Memorial Galleries is located at 285 Ann Street, Brisbane.
