Parramatta’s PHIVE is helping some of our brightest minds take a glimpse into the future and develop their entrepreneurial skills, as it hosts the multi-purpose innovation space, the CoLAB technology lab.

CoLAB is a shared, flexible workshop where you can drop-in to experiment with emerging technology, attend workshops to build your digital skills and connect with a like-minded community.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Pierre Esber said it’s an opportunity for the people of Parramatta to build on their knowledge and help create an exciting future for the City.

“CoLAB is an exciting incubator which can play a big role in the birth of bold ideas and another step in our journey as a smart city,” Cr Esber said.

“This innovation space will help bring people, ideas and tech together.

“It’s a chance for our community to get hands on with everything from virtual and augmented reality to 3D printing, for entrepreneurs to get tips on enhancing their start-ups, for businesses to learn how AI can help them drive growth and for our stakeholders to collaborate on great initiatives for our City.”

Cr Esber encouraged the entire Parramatta community to come to PHIVE and get involved in CoLAB.

“Council is in the process of developing a 10-year Smart City and Innovation Strategy so we highly value opportunities to host workshops and spaces to promote advanced ideas and technology,” Cr Esber said.

The CoLAB technology lab has been created in partnership by the City of Parramatta and Western Sydney University’s Launch Pad technology business incubator, following community requests for more spaces for networking and collaboration.

CoLAB is set up in the foyer of PHIVE, with weekly programming.
