Sunday, October 29, 2023, 10am – 3pm Join us at Anzac Square Memorial Galleries, ahead of Remembrance Day 2023, for the Anzac Square children's exploration trail!Are you looking for activities to help your children or scouts learn more about Queensland’s military history this Remembrance Day? Would you like them to better understand the importance of the Anzac Legacy? Come along to Anzac Square on Sunday 29 October between 10am and 3pm and have a go at our free self-guided children's exploration trail!We have trails suitable for 5–15-year-olds, which take roughly 30-60 minutes to complete. Children and scouts, along with their parents and guardians are invited to explore the memorials in each of the Galleries as well as the parkland to learn about the stories of bravery and sacrifice of service men and women.Our trails are a fun, educational and engaging way to: Learn about the history of Anzac Square and symbolism in the parkland, including the eternal flame and new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander memorial statue. Discover the people, places and stories connected to Queensland’s military past Examine different memorial plaques and tablets for Queensland associated battalions and military units And engage with exciting digital content, spanning from WWI to presentOur knowledgeable staff will be on hand to assist and answer questions. All participants who complete the activity will be awarded a small Anzac themed prize.After the trail, visitors are welcome to continue exploring the Memorial Galleries or take time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands.For more information visit the Anzac Square website.
