The varied talents of artists from Goombungee and surrounding district feature for the second successive year in the aptly titled exhibition, I love Goombungee!, which is on display at Rosalie Gallery from October 18 to November 12, 2023.

The exhibition showcases photography, paintings and sculptures that pay homage to the community.

Through a diverse range of artistic expressions, the exhibition captures the essence of the Goombungee township, from its picturesque landscapes to its colourful, vibrant Jacarandas.

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in these heartwarming artworks, each telling a story of love and appreciation for Goombungee’s beauty and soul.

The exhibition is a heartfelt tribute that fosters a sense of pride and unity among residents and admirers of this enchanting town.

Participating artist Myree Oakley-Smith said her approach was about capturing the vibrant essence of Goombungee's 30th Jacaranda Festival, with her work titled, Goombungee Jacarandas.

“My acrylic artwork portrays a local cafe nestled amidst enchanting Jacaranda trees,” Myree said.

“The painting invites viewers to savour the town's unique charm, merging the festival's jubilant spirit with the cosy nostalgia of a liquorice allsorts-inspired sitting area as the border to the beautiful setting.

“Through this piece, I celebrate the profound love for Goombungee that unites us all.”

Artists selected to participate in this year’s I Love Goombungee! exhibition include John Aven’el, Victoria Beths, Cynthia Canard, Ava Englund, Colleen Gardener, Maria Golding, Sheldon Lindsay, Myree Oakley-Smith, Sonia Sexton, Roma Smith and Cooper Thorne.

Rosalie Gallery is committed to displaying the talents of its creative community with this latest exhibition. I love Goombungee! proudly supports Goombungee’s annual Jacaranda Day celebrations, which are scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023.
