2023 Annual Report celebrates Council's achievements

Gannawarra Shire Council’s achievements undertaken during the 2022/23 financial year are outlined in the Gannawarra Shire Council 2023 Annual Report.

Presented to the October 2023 Council Meeting, the Gannawarra Shire Council 2023 Annual Report features a range of information about the Gannawarra and Council’s achievements during 2022/23, including major projects completed and details relating to funding Council provided to community groups and organisations. The document also includes a variety of photographs and images which showcase the region and community support and services delivered by Council to the community.

“Council’s response to the October-December 2022 floods, as well as our recovery from the second major flood event to impact the Gannawarra this century, was a strong focus during the 2022/23 financial year,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.

“Council has spent the months following the floods working to repair our flood-damaged roads, and is continuing to advocate to the State and Federal governments to cover these costs, ensuring our flood-impacted communities are not financially impacted via additional strain on Council finances.

“Communities across the Gannawarra also benefited from the completion of major capital works projects, made possible thanks to partnerships with the State and Federal governments. These works included the Murrabit Stormwater Project, the Kerang All Abilities Play Space and the region’s first Changing Places facility, which has created facilities that will enable people of all abilities to explore the Gannawarra easier than they were previously able to.”

The Gannawarra Shire Council 2023 Annual Report builds on the design refresh undertaken during the development of the 2022 Annual Report, with reports outlining Council’s efforts in achieving goals outlined in the Growing Gannawarra – 2021-2025 Council Plan Year Two Action Plan and its performance in the Local Government Performance Reporting Framework presented in a easy to read format.

The Gannawarra Shire Council 2023 Annual Report also features Council’s Audited Financial Statements and Audited Performance Statement for the 2022/23 financial year.
