Gary Mack is officially the Town of Cambridge's new Mayor after topping the 2023 Ordinary Local Government Election.
Mayor Gary Mack was sworn in at a ceremony on 24 October before CEO Gary Tuffin, followed by Crs Susan Kennerly, Kate Barlow, and Georgie Randklev. Newly elected members Michael Le Page and Gavin Foley will sign their declarations at a later date.
Mayor Mack had been a Wembley Ward Councillor since October 2019 and serves on the Town’s Development and Audit and Risk Committees. He is an experienced lawyer and mediator by profession.
Speaking at his inauguration, Mayor Mack said:
"I am deeply honoured to have been elected as Mayor by our community. I am eager to collaborate with our current, re-elected, and newly elected Councillors, as well as our dedicated Administration team, to elevate our Town into a leading local government in Australia. I want to express my gratitude to the outgoing Mayor, Keri Shannon, and Councillors Meg Anklesaria and Alaine Haddon-Casey for their valuable service to our Town, and I wish them all the best. I am excited about the prospect of engaging with our local sporting clubs, community groups, and businesses to better understand how we can support their contributions to our community."
