Work has started on the new Back Creek Bridge on Kyogle Road, and piling of the new Eight Day Creek Bridge on Needhams Road is scheduled to start on 6 November.
Piling work on the new Askews Bridge on Askews Dip Road was completed this week and abutment works have commenced. Barkers Bridge on Williams Road is complete and open to traffic. That bridge crew will now move on to Brindle Creek Road.
The Station Road bridge to pipe project will be completed this week, and once done the work crew will head to Clarence Way to join another crew replacing culverts as part of the Clarence Way upgrade project.
Repairs to landslips on Gabal and Dugans roads are ongoing. The major work on the Edwards Lane landslip has been completed, with crews finishing off curb and gutter and guardrail installation over the next couple of weeks.
The three major landslips on Lions Road are on track to be completed by the end of this month, while contractors are expected to finish repairs to the landslip under Geneva Bridge before Christmas.
Road construction crews continue to work on Kyogle Road, Clarence Way at Sandy Creek, and Bruxner Highway at Mallanganee Range. A second road construction crew will now start work near the Bean Creek area on Clarence Way.
Work on Duck Creek Road was completed last week.
The project to seal part of the southern section of Sextonville Road was delayed and is scheduled to happen next week. Council will seal a 4km stretch of the road.
Kyogle Lookout Access Road is being resealed this week. New guardrail also is being installed along the southern side of the road.
Maintenance grading is ongoing on Dyraaba Road, with the grading crews moving to Baileys Bridge and Wiangaree Back roads next.
The flood damage work crews have finished replacing culverts on Omagh and Edenville roads and are finishing works on Deep Creek Road. They are also picking up and addressing small defects on rural roads throughout the LGA.
Council’s pothole patching program is ongoing on Ettrick Range and Clarence Way, with the jetpatcher working on Wyangarie and Ettrick streets in Kyogle.
