Every Aussie needs a farmer, whether it’s to clothe us and keep us warm, or to feed us and keep us full, the Central Highlands Region is a hub of primary producers.
This National Agriculture Day or ‘AgDay’, the theme is ‘Grow you good thing’ and to celebrate, council is running a competition to find extraordinary farmers and thank them for their contribution to our community!
AgDay is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the hard work and dedication of the individuals in our community who contribute to the success of our agricultural sector,
Said Mayor Kerry Hayes.
‘Agriculture plays a vital role in the Central Highlands Region, and our farmers are the backbone of this nation,’ He continued.
‘Following on from the success of last year’s competition, we are once again asking residents to help us recognise local farmers across our region’, he said.
Nominate a farmer today and upload a photo of them ‘doing their thing’ and they will receive a special prize and signed card from council.
All nominated farmers also go into a draw to win a major prize pack valued at $200 and will be featured on the council Facebook page to celebrate their win. The major prize winner will be announced on Friday 17 November.
