Locals are encouraged to get their pageant float and stallholder nominations in as Council begins gearing up for the annual Christmas Pageant and afterparty in Sturt Park.
Council's Community Development Coordinator, Rachel Merton, said she is hoping to see the support from business and community groups return to bring the pageant back to its successful pre-covid numbers.
"Prior to the pandemic the Christmas Pageant was strongly supported in the community, and we were seeing record numbers in registrations for floats,” she said.
"It's a great Christmas tradition so hopefully it continues to rebound and gain momentum.
"A lot of families are doing it tough at the moment due to the cost of living, so it would be wonderful for the community to come together and ensure we have a great free event for everyone to enjoy."
As always, Ms Merton encouraged people to get their nominations in early to allow Council to prepare for the massive event.
"It's a huge event to coordinate, and early nominations are always greatly appreciated to help us organise the day" she said.
"You don't necessarily have to have your float ready, just get that nomination in by November 17 so we can save you a spot in the motorcade or at the afterparty."
The 2023 Christmas pageant will take place on Saturday 2nd December with the pageant commencing from 6pm.
The after party in Sturt Park will commence from 6:30pm and will feature a range of stalls, activities for kids, and a special appearance from Santa.
