Murrurundi Administration Building, Library and Waste facility will be closed, Friday 3 November, due to the Union Picnic Day. Regular hours will resume on Monday.

During the recent Council Meeting, winners of the "Mayor for a Day" Essay Competition and the Postcard Competition themed "A Special Place in My Community" were announced. These competitions drew over 700 submissions in total from school students across the Shire, reflecting a strong interest in local government.
In the Essay Competition, students shared their thoughts on "If I was Mayor for a day, I would...". The Postcard Competition saw students creatively depicting what makes their community unique. Here are the winners:

They joined Mayor Maurice Collison during the Council meeting and helped in reading some agenda items, showcasing a glimpse of young leadership within the community.
