South Ward Councillor James Rowe JP has been elected as the new City of Wanneroo Deputy Mayor.

Cr Rowe was sworn-in for a two-year term at a Special Council Meeting on Monday 6 November.

Mayor Linda Aitken congratulated Cr Rowe on being elected, highlighting his enthusiasm and commitment to the future of the City as a lifelong resident.

"Highly regarded by his fellow Councillors and within our community, Cr Rowe brings valuable insights and experience to the role of Deputy Mayor," she said.

"Since joining Council in 2021, Cr Rowe has continuously demonstrated his passion and commitment to connecting with residents and local businesses to help improve our City.

"With fresh perspective, strategic thinking and a strong sense of responsibility to deliver outcomes for our community, we are enthusiastic about the positive impacts Cr Rowe will help us achieve. 

"I look forward to working with Cr Rowe and our fellow Councillors to achieve our community's aspirations."
