Local neighbourhoods are the focus of a new art exhibition opening at Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba this Saturday, 11 November.
In contrast to the mandated lockdowns and isolation periods of the COVID-19 years, the In Focus exhibition this year invited artists to step outside and capture their surrounds responding to the theme “My Street”.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the result was comforting and familiar works that showcased the cultural life of the region and artistic talent across a range of media and styles.
“It is a delight to see the streets of Redlands Coast come alive through this exhibition,” Cr Williams said.
“There is beauty in our daily lives and in our streets and this has been captured by talented local artists for all to share.
“I invite our residents to view this exhibition and appreciate how fortunate we are to live in such a wonderful part of Queensland.”
