Joining Forces to Urge Senators To Oppose The Federal Government's Water Amendment Bill

Representing some of the most productive agricultural areas in Australia, Council’s Mayor Mark Johnson, Narrabri Shire Mayor Darrell Tiemens and Gunnedah Shire Mayor Jamie Chaffey held a press conference in Wee Waa on Friday, 3 November to express their concerns the impacts and flow on effects the proposed water bill could have on local communities, especially when it comes to water buybacks and have called on Senators to oppose the federal government’s Water Amendment (Restoring our Rivers) Bill 2023.
