Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) encourages established and emerging artists of all ages to submit their entries in seven categories for the 2024 Annual Art Awards in Springsure.
With over $6,000 in prize money to be won, all artforms from easel-based to digital art are encouraged to be submitted for judging.
Each year, a judge awards the coveted Central Highlands Regional Council Acquisitive Award of $2,000 to the most outstanding work from the first five categories.
The 2023 award was given to Ainslie McMahon, for her piece ‘Life in the mangroves’ pictured below.
‘It was such an honour to win the overall award at the Springsure Art Awards 2023, resulting in my work now being included in the Springsure Gallery Art Collection,’ said Ms McMahon.
‘Receiving a win like this just validates all the time and energy spent creating art! I believe this award is a wonderful showcase for regional artists, with a high standard of artwork entered,’ she continued.
‘By supporting this award, it stimulates the appreciation of art in regional communities.’
