Have you ever wanted to have a say in the location of a new park, where to build walking trails or the design of a new community facility?
Toowoomba Regional Council’s (TRC) Your Say page gives residents this opportunity with almost 3000 visits to the site in September alone.
TRC Finance and Business Strategy Portfolio Lead Cr Edwina Farquhar said the feedback received through the site, helped Councillors with their decision making.
“We are always looking to engage with our community and this form of consultation gives us much better insight into how our community feels about certain matters,” she said.
“The Your Say page gives residents the opportunity to provide their thoughts, feelings and ideas on a range of projects and activities.
“From July to September there have been 7395 people who used the page to have a say on projects like the Corporate Plan, the Highfields Intersections upgrade and Toowoomba Region Futures.
“This page is just one of the ways we’re working with our community.”
One of the projects which is open for consultation is the Black Gully Linear Corridor and Captain Cook Recreation Reserve upgrade. Community feedback will be used to guide the development of a draft master plan for the area which will identify future upgrade works.
