The City of Rockingham’s Summer Series is back for 2023/2024, with a number of free and family-friendly events coming up for community members to enjoy.
The Summer Series takes place between November and March and includes the City’s major annual events – the Christmas Lights Launch (Friday 8 December), New Year’s Eve, Celebrate Australia Day in Rockingham, Symphony on the Green and Performance in the Park.
In what will be a huge night of celebrations on New Year’s Eve, the City is delighted to confirm that WA rockers Birds of Tokyo will be headlining the entertainment on 31 December 2023 at Rockingham Foreshore.
Fireworks will take place on New Year’s Eve, and also at the City’s Australia Day event (to be held on Saturday 27 January).
The West Australian Symphony Orchestra will lead the entertainment at Symphony on the Green (Saturday 17 February 2024), while visitors to Performance in the Park (Sunday 18 February 2024) will be treated to a special stage performance of The Little Mermaid.
Several other familiar Summer Series events will also continue including regular tai chi, dance fitness and yoga classes, Soulful Sundays and Community Fun Days.
With so much exciting entertainment in store, City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged community members to get involved this summer.
“The City’s Summer Series provides an opportunity for the Rockingham community to connect and engage in fun, outdoor activities during the summer season at the City's foreshores, parks and reserves,” Mayor Hamblin said.
With so many events and activities planned, there is something to suit a variety of tastes. As the Summer Series is a family-friendly initiative, visitors to these events are encouraged not to smoke, vape or drink alcohol. For a full list of events, dates and times visit Summer Series.
