Major construction on Narrabri to North Star Phase One completed

Our General Manager Kelvin Tytherleigh, Deputy Mayor Susannah Pearse, Director of Engineering John Dyer and Mark Connelly Executive Manager Regional Activation recently attended the key milestone for the Inland Rail project celebrated at Milguy after two and a half years of construction.
The Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 project included upgrading 176km of track along the existing rail corridor. Inland Rail completed upgrades to seven bridges and has enhanced safety at 57 level crossings, with 10 passive level crossings upgraded to active with bells, lights, and boom gates.
Following Inland Rail upgrades, the line between Narrabri and South Moree has been operational since November 2022.
