Central Coast Tasmania is a vibrant hub of activity, with various Council run or community driven events happening around our municipality for the public to enjoy.

Below is a list of upcoming events happening around our region that Central Coast Council has been informed of. It is not a complete list of all local events, and excludes commercial activities or events run for profit. Click here for a more comprehensive list on the Coast to Canyon website.

DECEMBER 2023 
PENGUIN CHRISTMAS PARADE | 1 December

The Lions Club of Penguin will be holding the Penguin Christmas Parade on Friday, 1 December, from 7 pm to 8 pm, along Main Road, Penguin. Join the community for some Christmas cheer and to see the fantastic floats this year. For more information, click here.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION WITH ULVERSTONE MUNICIPAL BAND- 2 DECEMBER

Join the Ulverstone Municipal Band on Saturday 2 December for some great music for all ages, from 7:30 pm, at East Ulverstone Primary School. Tickets are available from Lees Jewellers or via Eventbrite.com and cost $12 pp, or $8 for children under 14.   

FAMILIES AND GRIEF SEMINAR | 2 DECEMBER
New Mornings will be holding a Families & Grief Seminar on 2 December, from 9:45 am to 3pm, at The Gnomon Room located at The Wharf, Ulverstone. Register via Eventbrite.com, or by calling their office on 6411 6212.
ULVERSTONE CHRISTMAS PARADE AND CAROLS | 16 DECEMBER 

One of the biggest and best community run Christmas events in Tasmania will be happening in Ulverstone on Saturday, December 16, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, along Reiby Street, in Ulverstone. For more information, or to register your float, visit the Coast to Canyon website. 

ULVERSTONE CLOCK TURNS 70 | 24 DECEMBER  

The Ulverstone Memorial Clock (Shrine of Remembrance) is turning 70. Join Council on 24 December 2023, from 11 am -12 pm, at The Wave Public Sculpture – 1 Reibey Street, Ulvestone (Outside Hive).  The event will also welcome an extra special guest of honour, one of the builders behind the project. JANUARY 2024  GOOD GUMNUTS FESTIVAL | 5-6 JANUARY 2024

Good Gumnuts Festival is coming back in 2024. It will include two fun-filled days of music, camping, food and good times. Click here for more information. 

February 2024 WALK FOR MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH | 18 February 2024

On February 18, the Rotary Club of Ulverstone West will be holding their inaugural Lift the Lid Walk 2024. The walk will start at Ulverstone Rowing Club, and the entry fee is $30 for adults, which includes an event t-shirt. Kids under 15 walk free and t-shirts for them can be purchased on the day.

ONGOING EVENTS CONNECT CAFE | OPEN TUESDAYS

The Dementia-Friendly Central Coast group gathers at 10am every Tuesday at the Gnomon Room at Ulverstone Wharf Precinct. Click here for more information. 

ZONTA CLUB OF CRADLE COAST 

The Zonta Club of Cradle Coast holds their dinner meeting on the second Tuesday of each month and a coffee catch-up on some Saturday mornings (dates will vary). ROTARY CLUB OF ULVERSTONE

The Rotary Club of Ulverstone meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month at Returned Services Club (RSC) King Edward Street, Ulverstone, from 5.45pm for 6.15pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and there is an emphasis on making new friendships and having fun – all while helping out the community.  For more information, please email the Rotary Club directly.
