Celebrate sustainable giving at IndigiScapes Eco Market
Redland City Council 27 Nov 2023

Redlands Coasts residents dreaming of a sustainable Christmas will find lots of inspirational ideas at the Eco Market at Council’s Redlands IndigiScapes Centre on Saturday 2 December 2023.

Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the event would feature family-friendly activities and entertainment alongside stalls offering fresh local produce and unique sustainable products.

“The IndigiScapes eco markets have proven very popular since their launch in 2021 and have helped to foster an appreciation of our natural environment and engage with the community about sustainable lifestyle choices,” Cr Williams said.

“The December event will have a festive focus on sustainable giving and decorating leading into Christmas.

“We can all play our part by supporting local businesses and choosing eco-friendly products – whether a hand-crafted item, sustainable giftware or even a living gift from IndigiScapes’ native nursery.

“The market is held in the centre’s native botanic gardens and offers the perfect opportunity to source unique gifts for family and friends while supporting our community and surrounded by nature.”

Division 7 Councillor Rowanne McKenzie said the market would offer something for people of all ages.

“Ranger Stacey will be on the outdoor stage introducing a great line-up of local performers, and Chloe Butterfield will be talking about her book Little Explorer’s Guide to Queensland National Parks,” Cr McKenzie said.

“There will also be plenty of food options, including the Indigiscapes Cafe, and children’s activities such as face painting, messy play and outdoor play.

“The suitcase rummage and rack sale are always popular with people looking for a pre-loved bargain and there will be an opportunity to weave your own festive creations and decorations using natural fibres in the weaving circle.”

The Eco Market will be held from 8am to 12pm on Saturday 2 December at Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, 17 Runnymede Road, Capalaba
