You better watch out and you better be good because Santa Claus is coming to Liverpool in a spectacular countdown to Christmas.
Liverpool’s colourful ‘Christmas in the Mall’ will turn on the festivities in Macquarie Mall from 5pm to 10pm on December 8-10.
The special guests during three exciting days of yule time fun and expectation will be Santa Claus and Mrs Claus.
They made the long trip from the North Pole in their sleigh to meet Liverpool’s boys and girls and hear what they would like to find under their tree on Christmas morning.
A couple of elves might have sneaked onto the sleigh as well and maybe there’ll be a glimpse of Rudolph.
“Christmas is a wonderful time of the year for everyone big or small,” said Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun “It’s a time when we can put larger problems and issues to one side for a moment and look for the peace and contentment Christmas brings.
“Christmas is a time when the spirit of joy and love fills the air. We pray that all around the world people can enjoy the joy and love like we have here in Liverpool.”
Macquarie Mall will come to life during the three days of Christmas celebrations.
There will be carol singing with established performers leading the crowd in familiar tunes.
And a movie marathon with Christmas themes and a wonderland for children with face painting, arts, and crafts.
Santa will be there for photographs and to have a chat.
He’ll also pick up the letters children can write to him in the Mall about their plans for Christmas and the gifts they would like him to bring.
