L&F Transfers is leading the initiative with Central Highlands Regional Council in the feasibility of installing five all weather bus passenger shelter locations in Blackwater.
L&F Transfers, with support from the Jellinbah mine, conceived this initiative. BUMA, a leading Australian mining contractor is also on board with the idea.
‘Building bus shelters in Blackwater are crucial for enhancing local transportation services,’ a Jellinbah mine spokesperson said.
‘The shelters would provide a refuge for the community, ensuring a more comfortable and convenient waiting experience for residents, students, and mine workers. For the local community, it promotes public transportation options already in place,’ he continued.
L&F Transfers has nominated 5 potential locations for bus passenger shelters in Blackwater:
Bauman Way – adjacent to Graham Park Yeates Avenue – adjacent to Village on Blain Wey Street – adjacent to the school entry gate Hunter Street – adjacent to the sports grounds Blain Street – in front of WoolworthsGeneral Manager of L&F Transfers, Nathan Turner said discussions with local schools and industry has already begun.
‘We are chasing community feedback on proposed locations and any alternate suggestions,’ he said.
