Families needing to access vaccinations for their children, as well as influenza and other vaccines, will be able to do so from Gannawarra Shire Council’s popular immunisation program.

Sessions will be held at Cohuna and Kerang from Wednesday, 3 January 2024 through to Wednesday, 18 December 2024.

“Council’s immunisation sessions are an ideal way for families to ensure that their children are able to receive their scheduled vaccinations on time to protect against vaccine preventable diseases,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

Immunisation sessions will be held at the Gannawarra Shire Children’s Centre, Kerang on the first Wednesday of the month from 10.30am to 12 noon, as well as on the third Wednesday of the month between 4pm and 5.30pm.

Sessions are also held at the Cohuna Maternal and Child Health Centre on the third Wednesday of the month from 10.30am to 12 noon.

Alternative arrangements will be in place for sessions in mid-January 2024, with the Cohuna session and Kerang afternoon session occurring on Wednesday, 24 January rather than Wednesday, 17 January.

“Families are reminded that at least one parent or guardian is required to be with their child during their attendance at one of Council’s immunisation sessions,” Mr Rollinson said.

“People who are being vaccinated also need to stay on-site for 15 minutes after their appointment to be observed by the nurse on duty.”

Bookings for all Council immunisation sessions are essential, which can be done by phoning Council’s Customer Service Centre on (03) 5450 9333.

Immunisation sessions are advertised in Council’s Gannawarra News and Gannawarra Connect publications, as well as Council’s Facebook page.
