Notification of Emergency repair works on Griffin Bridge, Mungalup Road, Collie

During a level 2 inspection undertaken by MRWA earlier in the year, extensive damage was located in 2 of the piers. This damage requires repair prior to reopening to traffic. Please be advised that Emergency repair works on Griffin Bridge, Mungalup Road have been scheduled to commence at 7.00am on Monday, 08 January 2024, circumstances and weather permitting.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday, 9 February 2024.

Due to support requirements for the bridge during the construction phase, Griffin Bridge will be closed to all traffic during this period. A signed detour will be in place utilising Collie-Preston Road, Donnybrook-Boyup Brook Road, Ferguson Road, and Pile Road for road users to and from Collie.  Local residences will be advised to find alternate routes.

A representative from the Shire will be available onsite for discussion with residents of Mungalup settlement on Tuesday 19th December 7:00am at the intersection of Siding Street and Larney Street for 1 hour to discuss any concerns.

While every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience, we recognise some disruption will be experienced.  Your patience and cooperation during this time will be greatly appreciated.
