Carnival fun is coming to Fremantle these summer holidays, with a city-wide activation that promises to be fun for all ages.
Fremantle will become a fairground for five jam-packed days, from Wednesday 17 January to Sunday 21 January, from 3pm to 8pm.
A $5 ticket (plus booking fee) provides entry to all six carnival rides.
The rides will be located at Walyalup Koort, FOMO and Victoria Quay, with bonus activities for kids at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour (from 3-7pm).
Fremantle Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge said FUNMANTLE is for the whole family to enjoy.
"Everyone loves a ride, whether you’re young or young at heart and five dollars is great value."
Rides like Fiesta Balloon, Cup and Saucer, Dream Swinger and Runaway Train will entertain the little ones, while the fast-spinning Storm and Dodgem Drift bumper cars will appeal to the more adventurous. All rides are provided by Carnival Amusements.
"Given it's the middle of summer, we'll start the rides mid-afternoon when it has cooled down and will go into the evening.
"Fun-seekers can make a day of it, by coming into Freo for lunch or dinner and enjoy everything our famous hospitality scene has to offer," Mayor Fitzhardinge said.
To add to the carnival atmosphere there will be sideshow games and other surprises at ride locations.
