Moree’s brand new co-working space Social Co House and UNE Smart Region Incubator (UNE SRI) space “The Greenhouse” was officially opened last week by The Hon Mark Coulton MP, alongside The Hon Adam Marshall MP and UNE Vice Chancellor, Professor Chris Moran.
The state-of-the-art co-working space which also houses the UNE SRI is designed to foster creativity, innovation, collaboration and productivity and welcomes entrepreneurs, freelancers and professionals from all industries to use.
Acting Mayor, Cr Susannah Pearse spoke to the room, explaining that the project is the result of successful collaborations between Moree Plains Shire Council, Social Co House, UNE SRI, and the Australian Government, with the end result of a phenomenal facility for the region.
Recognising the need for a location where people could hot desk, network, participate in training and development and access a range of amenities and features to support their business needs, the idea of a co-space was spawned.
“It is an incredibly exciting time for the region with the $230m Moree Special Activation Precinct set to transform our economy and community”, explained Mayor Pearse.
“With new large-scale industrial businesses set to call the Moree Plains home, we need our existing businesses to also step up and grow with us. Social Co House and the UNE SRI will provide the support smaller businesses need to set up, scale up, innovate and capitalise on what is to come.”
After years of hard work and dedication, local entrepreneurs Tyler Macey and Jacob Collier have transformed what was an eye sore in the heart of Moree (a vacant former discount retail store with a large main street frontage) into a stunning, thoughtfully curated space.
From comfortable workstations and high-speed internet to meeting rooms and breakout areas, this unique space is designed to facilitate meaningful connections and interactions with like-minded individuals within a vibrant atmosphere.
