Carols event cancelled

Tonight’s Carols in the Park event which was to be held at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre has been cancelled due to the ongoing flooding across the region.

CEO Mica Martin said the decision to cancel the event was made with the utmost concern for the safety and wellbeing of the community.

“We acknowledge that the decision may come as disappointment to many as our annual Carols event has become a cherished tradition in our community.  We understand the effort and dedication that goes into making this event a success.

“The ongoing severe weather leaves us with no choice but to cancel the event,” she said.

There are no plans to reschedule the event.
