Moree Plains Shire Council celebrated International Day of People with Disability on Sunday, 3 December at the Jellicoe Park Moree.
The event was an opportunity for Council to raise local awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by people with a disability and to help create a more accessible and inclusive region.
The occasion was graced by the presence of distinguished guest speaker, Sophia Mulligan, whose insights served to inspire and educate our diverse audience. Sophia Mulligan, a respected community member brought her wealth of experience to the forefront as she addressed the audience comprising individuals with disabilities, their families, and various stakeholders in the disability community.
Her impactful words resonated with attendees, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and emphasising the critical importance of inclusivity and accessibility.
