Council is thrilled to announce the extension of our Disability Survey, a comprehensive initiative aimed at understanding and addressing the diverse needs of our community members with disabilities.
Due to the overwhelming success and positive response received thus far, we have decided to prolong the survey period to ensure that we capture the perspectives of an even broader audience.
Since its launch, the Disability Survey has garnered tremendous interest and participation from individuals, advocacy groups, and community organisations. The valuable insights gathered have already proven instrumental in shaping our understanding of the challenges faced by people with disabilities and identifying areas where our community can improve accessibility and inclusivity.
By extending the survey period, we aim to engage an even larger cross-section of our community, providing individuals with disabilities, their families, and relevant stakeholders with an extended opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives. The additional time will allow us to gather more comprehensive data, ensuring that our future initiatives and programs are as inclusive and effective as possible.
"We are truly encouraged by the enthusiastic response to the Disability Survey so far," said Community, Culture and Libraries Manager, Alisa Akins.
"The decision to extend the survey reflects our commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive community. We want to ensure that every voice is heard, and every perspective is considered in our ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and address the unique needs of individuals with disabilities."
The extended survey period will now run until 25 January 2024 providing ample time for interested individuals to participate and contribute to the ongoing success of this initiative. Survey responses can be submitted online at https://forms.office.com/r/ecLRqaCi9r or paper copies are available at Services Australia Moree, Gwydir Industries Incorp Moree, Moree Community Library and Moree Care.
Moree Plains Shire Council extends its sincere gratitude to all those who have already participated and encourages everyone to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities in our community.
