The Macedon Ranges will share in the benefits of funding support from the Victorian Government to enhance the visitor experience across the region.
Daylesford Macedon Tourism (DMT) has received a $50,000 grant to lead the delivery of a Regional Visitor Servicing Strategy, in collaboration with Macedon Ranges Shire Council and Hepburn Shire Council.
The strategy will focus on optimising investment through both physical and digital channels, resulting in a more cohesive delivery of visitor services across the region and a better experience for all.
Macedon Ranges Shire Council Mayor Annette Death welcomed the funding from the Victorian Government's Visitor Servicing Fund, which will result in better economic and social outcomes for the region.
“We are excited about this collaboration and look forward to working closely with Daylesford Macedon Tourism and Hepburn Shire Council, to look at ways we can attract more people to the region,” she said.
“Local businesses will also benefit, with visitors more likely to stay longer or revisit the region if they have had a positive experience.”
Council will also share in a $625,000 grant allocated to Goldfield Gateways under the same fund, with a portion of the grant being allocated to developing new wayfinding signage to enhance the visitor experience at Hanging Rock Reserve.
