Summer fun at your local library

The Gannawarra Library Service is the place to be these summer holidays, with various free events planned between 9-24 January to keep children entertained.

Six activity sessions will be held during the last three weeks of the summer holidays at the Cohuna Library and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library, catering for children of all ages.

“The Gannawarra Library Service team does an amazing job in providing various activities for families to enjoy during the school holidays, and what is planned for this month is no exception,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

The holiday fun will begin at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Tuesday, 9 January, with Sand Art sessions occurring at 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Children will be able to make their own dinosaur fossils during sessions occurring at the Cohuna Library on Thursday, 11 January from 10.30am and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Thursday, 18 January from 2.30pm.

Following on the popularity of last year’s program, Australia Day Animals craft sessions occurring at the Cohuna Library on Tuesday, 23 January from 2.30pm and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Wednesday, 24 January from 10.30am.

Other events also occurring throughout January include the Susea Spray Author Talks and activity sessions, occurring on Wednesday, 17 January at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library from 10.30am and the Cohuna Library on the same day at 2.30pm, and the Big Summer Read program.
