The Breadtag Project “More than Little Nothings” by Shani Nottingham is currently on display at Hive Tasmanian in the Science Centre.
Founder Shani Nottingham has been using breadtags collected and saved from landfill, as well as sent to her from people all over the world, to create art installations and draw attention to single use plastics and the impact they have on our environment. Founded in 2018, Shani’s work has also contributed to the shift by major bakeries to roll out compostable cardboard alternatives.
Hive is thrilled to welcome Shani as their Summer Artist in Residence from 15 – 21 Jan 2024, when she will be running workshops and activities as part of the Summer School holiday program.
Hive will also be collecting breadtag donations all summer on behalf of Shani, to allow the community to contribute to her future work (while also recycling). So, start collecting your breadtags now and be sure to bring them along next time you visit Hive.
All events in the Hive Summer program are now live on Eventbrite.
