As you may be aware, the Nabawa Refuse site was recently compromised by illegal asbestos dumping which has caused parts of the site to be closed to the public for safety concerns.

After a comprehensive Asbestos Management Removal Plan was prepared by licensed contractors, the Council are now in a position to work with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) to implement the plan and have the effected site cleaned up with minimal disruption to current activities.

The site will operate as it has done for the past month with the Transfer Station & Green Waste ONLY available for use on Wednesdays & Sundays between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

Once remedial work takes place on site, Council will keep users informed of any changes to existing opening times, operational areas.

The Shire of Chapman Valley apologises for an inconvenience caused and will continue to keep the community informed of the clean-up process and status of the tip.
