The Role:

Our Plant Operators Parks & Gardens are responsible for undertaking a variety of duties to assist in the presentation and maintenance of Council’s open spaces.  These include the safe operation and general maintenance of Council’s plant, equipment and other machinery, performing general duties such as mowing, weeding, brush cutting, fertilising, irrigating and picking up litter as well providing other support for the workgroup as directed.

What we are looking for:

You will need to be able to work as part of a team You will have solid communication skills, both written and verbal You will have the ability to perform general maintenance on machinery You will have a current Queensland C class driver’s licence or MR Licence You will need to be able to safely operate Council owned plant such as mowers, brush cutters and chainsaws, or have the ability to quickly acquire these skills You will need to be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience in horticulture, or have the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge You will need to be physically fit to undertake manual handling and labouring tasks in hot and humid conditions

You will also need to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol screen.
