SENIOR FINANCE  OFFICER

The Shire of Chapman Valley is seeking a full time Senior Finance Officer based at Nabawa.

A salary package of up to $95,884 per annum ($42.00 per hour) is offered under the Local Government Industry Award 2010 dependent on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years’ experience in a finance role with complementary tertiary qualifications and local government background. However, training and support may be provided where transferable skills and showing initiative in a new role can be demonstrated.

Problem-solving abilities. Communication skills. Understanding of the broader business context. Prioritising and managing multiple financial tasks with tight deadlines.

What will the day-to-day responsibilities look like?

Oversee front office finance officers for accuracy and integrity of all finance data input into software, includes assistance with GL job & cost centre coding and GST queries. Bank statement back-end accuracy. General ledger journals and assist other staff with budget & actuals information. Weekly bank reconciliations. Monthly cycle for various accounting reconciliations. 

Who will I report to?

Day to day reporting to Financial Services Officer.

Probation review will be completed with both Financial Services Officer & Manager of Finance & Corporate Services.
