The Emerald Netball Association (ENA) is celebrating the recent installation of a new water bottle filling station at Rundle Park, thanks to their successful application with council’s community grants program.
ENA president Nanette Hall said the old water bubbler was regularly vandalised. The new water bottle filling station can now be locked from vandals.
’It’s terrific!’ said Ms Hall.
‘Plus, it even tells us how many plastic water bottles were made redundant by refilling,’ she continued.
The ENA is an inclusive organisation that provides netball programs, competitions, and opportunities for male and female participants aged six years and over, with members participating and visiting from all over the region.
’With the help from the council grant, we also replaced the existing netball drinking trough with a refrigerated version for the benefit of all of our players.’
Council’s community grants assist groups and organisations who positively impact our region to undertake projects that they may otherwise not be able to do.
There are 3 categories that groups can apply under, with the closing date of round 1 being Sunday 28 January 2024 at 5.00 pm. The successful recipients will be notified in March.
