At its meeting on Thursday 14 December 2023, Council resolved to place Moree Plains Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan 2024 on public exhibition for a period of 42 days.

Local infrastructure contributions, also known as developer contributions, are charged by councils when new development occurs. They help fund infrastructure like parks, community facilities, local roads, footpaths, stormwater drainage, sewer and water infrastructure. The Moree Plains Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan 2024 (draft Plan), incorporating provisions allowing Council to impose a levy on development within the Moree Special Activation Precinct (SAP) calculated at 3 per cent of the development cost over $200,000.
