The popular designer, horticulturalist and TV presenter will be the keynote speaker at the annual event, held on 2-3 March at the Albury Botanic Gardens.
“We’re so excited to welcome Jamie Durie to Albury for Gardenesque,” Mayor Kylie King said.
“He is such a well-known and respected figure in the world of horticulture and garden design, and the knowledge and passion he will be able to pass on to local gardeners will be invaluable.”
Jamie has hosted Backyard Blitz, The Block and, more recently, Channel 7’s House Rules.
He has written 12 garden design titles and has spent over 20 years shaping some of the world’s most beautiful outdoor spaces, along the way picking up a gold medal at Britain’s prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show, a Centenary Medal from the Prime Minister and an OAM for services to the Australian environment and charities.
Jamie headlines a range of industry experts who will be on-hand for a series of interactive workshops designed to inspire ideas for planting, growing and cultivating at home.
Other workshops will cover designing and landscaping green spaces, sustainable living and producing fresh backyard food.
Gardenesque will also feature delicious food and beverages, live music from local and featured artists, roving entertainment, kids’ activities and fresh local produce.
“This is such a family-friendly event, designed to cater for a broad range of our community, from kids through to young families and the older generation,” Cr King said.
“Featuring stunning floral arrangements and garden designs and an abundance of interactive spaces to explore, it really is a wonderful way to spend a weekend in Albury.
“I invite the community to come along and explore the many interactive spaces on offer where you can touch, smell, eat and observe with family and friends.”
Gardenesque will be a ticketed event – tickets can be purchased at https://www.ticketebo.com.au/gardenesque
