Tasmanian Gold announces Beaconsfield works program Tasmanian Gold Pty Ltd has advised Council that they will undertake a limited haulage program to remove tailings from their Beaconsfield 'wetlands' site, starting this Monday (February 12).   The two-week program will remove "accumulated historical mine related precipitate material" from Beaconsfield, which will also involve a short-term restart of the mine to enable processing of that material for gold recovery.   The program was approved by the Environment Protection Authority, with an Environment Protection Notice issued to regulate the works.   Council understands Tasmanian Gold has letter-box dropped residents along the route of the haulage program, notifying them of the additional truck movements.    A traffic management plan will also be in place to monitor all vehicular movements.   Trucks will be travelling loaded along Bernard and cross to the west side of the Highway to Douglas Street and then on to Woodmans Lane and the processing facility on Rifle Range Road.  Unloaded trucks will return to the Wetlands via Woodmans Lane and the Highway.     Council officers will be inspecting the haulage route for any damage caused during the operations which will need to be rectified by the operator as a condition of the access approval.   If anyone impacted by Tasmanian Gold's works program has any concerns, you can contact Tasmanian Gold's representative, Grant Schuhmann on 0407 354 648 or email: [email protected]
