Be Vigilant for Cane Toads

Due to a cane toad detected in Amaroo Drive, Moree, the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) is seeking assistance in reporting and managing any additional cane toads detected.

Cane toads are known for their ability to stow-away in freight, green waste, loads of timber etc., thereby allowing the species to be accidentally moved to new areas. Cane toads can quickly establish new breeding populations which can seriously impact on cultural, ecological and community assets.

Should anyone sight cane toads in the Moree Plains Shire, please report sightings of cane toads to www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/biosecurity/sightings or email the Invasive Species Biosecurity Unit of DPI via email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
