Have your say on DIVO! The West Tamar Council and Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) are working together to resolve the future of the much-loved diving platform at Beauty Point.

Recently, concerns have been raised about the safety of the current diving platform. In light of these concerns, PWS and the Council are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.

While further assessment of the platform is undertaken, the Council is undertaking consultation on behalf of PWS to understand the community's wishes for a platform at this location.

While the platform remains a PWS asset, the Council fully appreciates the importance of the platform to the Beauty Point community, particularly if the existing platform does need to be replaced.

We encourage anyone in our community with an interest to engage in this process - we believe that involving our passionate locals in this decision-making process is vital to finding a solution that aligns with the needs and wishes of all West Tamar residents.

Council officers have confirmed with PWS that it will not remove the platform until consultation is completed.

Once the Council and PWS have identified the preferred future solution, it will then need to go through relevant Council and PWS approval processes.

Further information on PWS assessment and approvals can be found on the Parks & Wildlife Service Tasmania website.
