The Role:

The Coordinator Technical Services is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of Council’s Technical Services group which includes Survey, Design, GIS, Investigations, Subdivision Inspections and the Materials Testing Laboratory. The position reports to the Manager Technical Services on any issues relating to areas of responsibility.

This is a diverse and technical role.  If you are not suitably qualified to take on all of the duties and responsibilities of the role but could perform a significant portion, we would still like to hear from you.  Remuneration will be adjusted accordingly.

What we are looking for:

You will have ideally completed a Bachelor of Engineering, be registered as a professional engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) and have a minimum of five years’ experience in the Civil Engineering field with management experience in a medium to large multidisciplinary organisation, however, we may consider candidates who, for example, have an Associate Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Surveying and/or who are not RPEQ registered You will need to be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of relevant standards, technical guidelines and regulations and highly developed skills in the use of information management systems, project control, design programs and scheduling software, with AutoCAD, 12d and the Microsoft suite of programs being particularly desirable You will need to have highly developed communication and time-management skills and be able to demonstrate your achievements in effectively liaising and negotiating with clients, regulatory authorities, consultation groups and other staff to manage multiple projects and deliver quality and cost-effective services You will be able to interpret and analyse financial information and have a developed understanding of budget processes along with the professional writing skills to effectively compile reports and correspondence
