Ararat Rural City Council is pleased to announce that the resurfacing project at Alexandra Oval is nearing completion, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of our community's sporting facilities.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the Council's Parks and Gardens crew have diligently worked to ensure optimal water distribution to the oval, crucial for maintaining the foundation works of the new surface. Notably, new Bluetooth connectivity has been integrated into the sprinkler systems, allowing for remote watering routines — a technological advancement that enhances efficiency and resource management.

According to Dr. Tim Harrison, CEO of Ararat Rural City Council, "The nearing completion of the Alexandra Oval's resurfacing project reflects our commitment to providing top-tier sporting infrastructure for the community. This collaborative effort showcases the dedication and expertise of our team and partners."

The success of this project underscores an incredible team effort, drawing upon specialist knowledge from various sectors within both Council and the industry. Works have been expertly completed by Council, Wimmera Aquatrail, and Sportsfields Australia, highlighting a collaborative approach to delivering excellence in recreational infrastructure.

We are thrilled to announce that Alexandra Oval will be open for training starting April 1, 2024, with the eagerly awaited first game of the season scheduled for April 20, 2024. This milestone represents a significant opportunity for our community to enjoy upgraded sporting facilities and foster a spirit of camaraderie through recreational activities.

Join us in celebrating the transformation of Alexandra Oval, as we look forward to a season filled with sporting excitement and community engagement.
