The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) have declared a TOTAL FIRE BAN on 20 February 2024 in the Shire of Corrigin.
A Total Fire Ban is imposed by DFES on days of extreme weather when fires will be difficult to control and are likely to threaten lives and property.
During a Total Fire Ban it is illegal to light an open-air fire or conduct any activity that could start a fire including: off road driving, 4WD or motorbike riding, earthworks, welding, grinding, wood fired BBQ or pizza ovens, use of combustion engines or mowing.
Some agricultural activities can continue until an Harvest and Movement of Vehicles Ban is imposed by the shire.
